The American Bar is the longest surviving cocktail bar in London and one of the most renowned in the world.
Serving classics with a twist, new and vintage creations – the American Bar is an icon in cocktail history and has played host to legendary bartenders – historic figures such as Harry Craddock, author of The Savoy Cocktail Book, and Ada ‘Coley’ Coleman.
The American Bar first opened in 1893 and has since served countless well-known faces, from Winston Churchill to Ernest Hemingway. It remains at the forefront of the industry, winning World’s Best Bar at Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards 2018 and World’s 50 Best Bars 2017.
Our newest menu is Liquid Moments, by the American Bar Bartender, which is inspired by the endless stories that have unfolded here, with each drink carrying it’s own history – a story, a memory, a moment. As you explore this menu, we invite you to create your own unforgettable liquid moment in the American Bar.

Monday – Saturday: 12.00pm – 12.00am
Sunday: 12.00pm – 10.00pm
This bar operates a walk-in policy. A limited number of online reservations are available for up to two people only.
Children 14 and above may visit the bar with guardians and in-house guests may bring children of any age.
